Children only required
to go to grade 6

Imagine not being able to go to school. A basic desire of every child is to learn and have a dream and a hope for the future.
Schooling in Honduras is free up to grade six. However, many children do not have this priviledge as the Public Schools are full and there is no space for them to attend. This is one of the public schools in Nuevo Capital, one of the poorest areas in all of Tegucigalpa, Honduras where 457 children attend. Many parents make a choice of sending their children out on the street to earn a living rather than attend school as it is a question of day to day survival..

Crowded Classrooms
Poor Equipment

Imagine going to school and not having a chair to sit on and having to cram under a window sill all day. This is the fate of these three boys. There are not enough seats to go around. The desks and chairs are in very bad shape. Many of them falling apart and very old.One of the desires of the school is for all children to have new desks and chairs.
